I grew up in Barcelona, in the neighborhood of Sant Antoni. I went to Escola Pia during my first school years and then attended Aula Escola Europea for high school, thanks to the CiMs-CELLEX scholarship for excellence in mathematics and physics (awarded to 25 students in Catalonia). This wonderful scholarship program allowed us to study both the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the Spanish scientific baccalaureate. I also thank the Estalmat math program for their incredible 2 years of weekend math classes.

I am very grateful to Fundació Catalunya la Pedrera for organizing the Joves i Ciència scholarship program, which funds three summers of scientific research during high school. Thanks to them, I attended the Research Science Institute (RSI) program at MIT, which was my first trip ever to the US and what made me want to move there for my studies and to do research. I am very thankful to the foundation and to Joves i Ciència for opening these doors to me.

In Catalonia we write a high school “thesis”, and mine was titled Open Problems with Factorials (PDF).
[Talk in Catalan, Premi Poincaré] [Talk in Spanish, Premio Especial del Certámen de Jóvenes Investigadores & selected to represent Spain at the EU Contest for Young Scientists].

En aquest vídeo explico una mica la meva experiència a Harvard. Si ets un estudiant amb motivacions científiques i vols saber com és anar a fora de Catalunya, no dubtis en escriure’m!

I love classical music and play the piano, violin, and flute (and have made some attempts at the organ). I thank all of these orchestras for having let me play with them throughout the years:
